long story short, the hub adapter requires that you use the original horn spring and the plastic fastening piece to allow you to use the horn. The bottom hole in the hub has a hole that is cut for the horn wire to connect into, but the factory Cadillac spring retainer does not fit this because there is another flange on the topside of the hole that must be ground away in order to make it work. I can at least say that it appears to be a good quality metal, because i have been grinding on and off for a few hours trying to get the horn retainer to fit the hub, and the process is very slow and tiring. If i knew this was going to cause me as much frustration as this is, i would have shopped elsewhere with how poorly thought out this is! i am now 6 hours in on a job that should have taken mere minutes because of improperly designed parts, and the horn button was on backorder for so long that i am outside of the return window on the hub adapter. very disappointing!
