I own a 1975 Cadillac with the classic problem of the plastic wood trim in the steering wheel crumbling and flaking off. After hitting my hands on the sharp bits of plastic too many times, and just hating the factory pencil thin steering wheel as a whole, I finally peeled the factory wood trim off, which 1: made the ragged edges feel razor sharp, and 2: made me realize that to replace this little piece of plastic, the only route is some guy online who makes them for almost $400.
Local upholstery shops wouldn't touch the project to re-skin the wheel, so I began searching online and found this place.
Although the walnut color is not a PERFECT match to the fake wood on the interior of the car, you wouldn't really be able to notice it anyway, and the wheel is thicker than the factory wheel and feels SOOOO much better in your hands, and is literally the same exact size at the stock wheel. Combine that with the horn button with the Cadillac logo that I will be getting here soon, and I think it's a pretty significant improvement to the lousy plastic wheel that came from the factory!
